You may want to do a little volunteer or intern work in order to get your foot in the door. Once you are in, you can network your way into a paying job. It's rough at 18, but not impossible.

I got a job at a nursing home in Ohio when I was 16 in the kitchen. I was allowed to set up for meals and serve the residents. I also had friends who got orderly type jobs when they were 16/17. They helped the nurses to bathe and dress the residents.
