My computer used to read my SD card, now all of a sudden, it is not. I have an HP pavilion zt3000 laptop running XP. Normally when I used to stick in my SD card, it would read it as a new drive, now it is not even detecting that I put anything in. It's not the card, as it works fine in the camera, and the same card worked a few months ago. Is there a way I can make windows detect the SD card? I recently had to reformat my computer, so I don't know if the driver got lost somehow... I also lost the USB cord, and the camera has a very specific connection, so I can only connect using the SD card. Thanks,

Some computers that use odd chipsets for the card reader require drivers to function correctly. Check your model at www.hp.com and see if a card reader driver is available for that model. If you dont feel like messing with that, mult-card readers are available at most electronics stores for around $15 or so, and connect via USB to the computer.

It won't hurt to download the latest driver for the camera and SD card and reinstall them.

If this doesn't cure your problem, you may need a repair job on the system.
