The reason I asked this, is because of something that happened to me recently. I added a friend at Myspace, and talked to him for about a month, he lives in next town over from me, he seemed nice, and we had alot in common. So I had an appt in his town, and we decided to meet. Now, he is a grown man, a teacher at the university here. We were nothing more than friends, but. before we met, he was calling me mabie twice a day, and emailing me 2 to 3 times a day also. The very next day......ziltch, nada. And its been like two days, and he has not contacted me in any way. So, What do you think? Remember, we were only friends in the first place.....

No .. I think of all the reasons to have a friend looks should not be one of them ... I have first met people because of a joke they said , an oral report they were doing , a comment I heard them make , a common interest , something that I liked about them mentally ... very different then when you first meet somone and you are looking for a boyfriend ..then I can see looks being an original factor....but friends.....never ..

I don't pick friends in general by their looks, but I have to admit that I do kind of pick close friends by their looks. I don't mean I pick friends that are hot, model types, but I do tend to lean towards a certain look (a natural/clean-cut youthful, "sweet," "smart" persona works for me--girl or guy). I guess I just feel that a person who looks look that will have things in common with me, but sometimes I'm wrong. Sometimes I find out that I actually have more in common with a sporty looking person or someone completely different. But if it's all about first impressions, I think we all would be able to look at a stack of pictures and pick the top 3 people we'd like to be friends with, just based on their looks.

Yes and no. Looks reflect on personality, and if they look like a creep or slob, then no they wouldn't ever be my friends. If they share my interests, and have a great personality, then yes they would be my friend. I don't just pick and choose. My friends are just people I connect with.

Well looks matter. But try to get to know them first. Who knows this person could be your new bff. And you could blow it off because the way she looks. And she will prably look different in 5 yrs. She's not goin to look the same forever.

No not at all.Dont you know the famous proverb 'Dont Judge a book by its cover'.We should always pick friends by their attitude, behaviour, kindness, honesty ,truthfulness, help in times of trouble etc.... and not just by their external appearances.

No, I don't. I pick them on how much of a good friend they are to me. And, I pick if they are not phony or fake.
