I know there are a lot of girls who speak russian in Pittsburgh. Why not? I looked at russian-language websites, and there was nothing about his previous girlfriend. So, maybe he never had one in Russia? Plus, I think he will not go back to Russia, and English is not the easiest language to learn... it is just from my own experience.

Well he's 18 and is starting to embark on his future career so maybe girlfriends aren't his priority right now. Chances are that they usually return to their homebase and find a girl that follows their traditions and doesn't mind being cheated on.
