Yes you can go to the dentist and get most routine things done, you just need to make sure you tell them that you are pregnant. I recently had a root canal done and they were able to do everything but the permanent crown on, they don't like to put the metal in your system from the crown when you are pregnant. I also am pretty sure that they can't do x-rays.

Yes it is actually advised that you get cleanings while you're pregnant. But as far as anything involving anesthia no. However go to the dentist regularly no use in dealing with pain of labor and having a cavity. Pregnancy doesn't prevent you from keeping your health up.

Yes, you can. However, you will need to talk to your doctor and let them know what procedures you plan on having done. When I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned while pregnant, the dentist required that I get a note from my doctor saying it was okay to be x-rayed. I know that in high risk pregnancies, you can not get x-rays. So talk to your doc about it. Oh, and by the way, I wasn't allowed to have Novicaine (sp?) while pregnant, so you might want to talk to your doctor about this if you plan on having any major procedures done.

yes why not. When i was 7 month pregnant i had very bad toothache so i had to see the dentist. When i was in dentists office and i asked him is it OK to do work on my tooth because i was pregnant and he said it's perfectly OK as long as i don't have any changes in my health ... and if you do he might contact your OBGYN doctor to see if he said it's OK or not... and about x-rays they can do it just they will put extra that thing on your chest that goes... so make sure they put one on your stomach too....
(so just don't forget to tell your dentist that you're pregnant)

Yes, It is actually recommended. Just let them know you are pregnant and don't get any x-rays. I went while I was pregnant and I have an appointment when my baby will be 6 weeks old. I couldn't get x-rays because my insurance only pays for once a year so I had to wait for the cleaning and everything....but my gums are healthy!

Of course. Just let them know ur pregnant so if a procedure needs to be done they can take precautionary measures and use the appropriate medication that is ok while pregnant.

Absolutely. Just be sure to tell them. Going to the dentist is a very good precaution as your blood volume in your body has increased which can bring on gingivitis and swollen gums. It did for me and a friend of mine. Good luck!
