I am miserable at my job but am unable to get a job in the medical field and dont want to quit just for another crappy job. My boss treats me like crap and does stupid little things that make my job harder throughout the day. Like the other day ( I work at a storage company BTW) He called and asked me to open all the vacant units. So I go out to the property and open all of them up thinking that once he is done he'll close them back up. Not only am I busy with customers but I have to send about 120 letters out by a certain time. So as you can tell Im busy. Well around 5:00pm (we close at 6:00pm) I realize that all the vacant units are still open. So that means I have to close all the units plus do all of my end of day stuff. I got so frusterated that I started to cry. I mean thats just one time out of hundreds. What should I do??? HELP

Stop letting the idiot get to you and look for another job in the medical field. When you have free time, post your resume. No job is worth all that stress. Good Luck!!!

You could always try a staffing agency. I used to work at one and we got all kinds of people really great jobs through there. Believe it or not most companies don't have the time to go out and recruit so there hire staffing agencies to do it for them. You can continue to work at your miserable job while somebody else does the looking for you. The way that the one was where I worked was we would offer the position to the employee and if there was something that they didn't like about the job (pay, location, company, etc.) they didn't have to accept it. Most agencies don't charge the employee but the customers that need the bodies. Good luck I hope you get out of there soon. Medical assisting shouldn't be that hard to get in somewhere through a staffing service.

Well, unless you want to remain in a miserable job that reduces you to tears, keep trying to get your foot in the door to use your medical assisting degree. Maybe you could work fewer hours at your current job and pick up some medical work on a part-time basis to gain experience. Kelly Services is a staffing agency that specializes in medical professions and they may be able to help you find a placement.

Good luck!

You sound overwhelmed. That is nothing new to most people, but you also sound like you may benefit from a short visit with a counselor or your doctor. Years ago I went through some high level stress at work, I got increadible forgetful and like you was just reduced to tears. I called my doctor because I was being forgetful and thought I had some serious medical condition. Turned out I was clinically depressed. I didn't need meds or anything, but I was recommended to a counselor to help sort out my feelings, and it certainly helped.

In the end I got a new job, wasn't an ideal job but it got me out of the immediate hell hole that I was in.

If you already have an MA degree, have you tried posting your resume online? You might want to check http://www.Craigslist.org
On the home page find your local area on the menu on the right of the page. Surf the help wanted and post your resume.
I got my job by posting there.

I would say just keep applying in the area you want until something happens. I have a lot of education, but it took me awhile to get jobs too.
