I think it depends on what kind of phone you have but most phones allow you to see who's calling even though you have no time left.

unfortunately, I don't think so..My old cell phone, family had called me and left me birthday messages and I never got them because of no minutes..btw..mine was a prepaid tracphone

as long as you have caller id it doesn't matter if it has minutes!
a lot of prepaid phones dont match with the caller id though
but new phones do!
