Sperm banks?

Can you get paid to donate sperm in any sperm banks in the uk ?????

You certainly used to be able to a few years ago - I have friends who did it at university to make a few quid.
But the rules have changed now and I am not sure how it works.

I know that any sperm donor no longer has the right to anonymity however. So if you donate sperm and that sperm goes on to conceive a child, then 18 years later you could have someone knocking on your door wanting to know who you are!
