I was just thinking about this because you can tell a lot about someone by watching them play basketball. Like, my friend has a hard time figuring out what to do with the ball, and she's indecisive with everything else as well. And apparently I play deceptively, and apparently I'm deceptive in other things too. Haha, don't ask. But I personally don't think that how you do something is how you do everthing. I like math and give it my best efforts, but I think history is boring so I spend that class talking to me friends. I was just wondering what other people though. :)

In a word, no, but there are personality traits that people possess that can come through in a lot of different ways. A lot of personality is hard-wired, and probably comes through with most things that people do. It's not very common to have someone be one way with most of their activities, and then be very different with something else. For example, if you are the type of person who gets to work at 6:45 every day, spending 30 minutes to read the newspaper and answer emails, then spend the next 15 minutes organizing your desk and inbox, you may not be the type of person to fly off to Las Vegas at the drop of a hat.

That being said, people can change a lot about themselves, and generally do, as circumstances and life-choices change. I was once a very methodical person, with a very regimented lifestyle, then the twins came along, and I've had to adjust. Maybe you and your friend will become different people, and she may just surprise you one of these days. Who knows, you may even surprise yourself!

I agree with you, how you do one thing doesn't necessarily indicate how you do everything (though for some people it does, it depends on the person's personality).

I had a human resources meeting at work today where they did personality tests to determine how we react in conflict situations. The test said to answer the question as though you were in any kind of conflict situation- at work, school, home, anything. I just applied how I would act at work (because the test was for work) and then explained to the tester later that how I behave in situations with my friends, family, or boyfriend is much different than how I behave at work. You can't make a generalization that would include them all because the modes of operation in each are so different.

No, people can change. Yes, we are creatures of habit, but that does not mean the habit can not change. The first impression is the strongest, so if you are going to do something more than once, and are going to change the "habit" after the first time, make sure when you do it the first time, it is the best!!!

No of course not they way we respond or react to anything depends entirely on the situation we are given to react to - and we don't have the same reactions to every situation so I would have to say no.
