i had a d&c about 3 weeks ago. i had unprotected sex a week after the surgery. last week i started my period and it only lasted about 3-4 days(normally it's 6-7 days). i had unprotected sex on the 3rd day of my period. what the chances of me getting pregnant? anyone go through something similar?? ~~~~please dont be rude :)
the d&c was a result of a early miscarriage and we were devastated. we plan to try again very soon. please dont think i am trying NOT to get pregnant or that im stupid.

I had my D&C on the 28th of Feb so I know exactly what you are going through. This is my second D&C both caused by early miscarriage. I would guess that your period was shorter because your body is still adjusting. My doc told me that I should get period back by six weeks. I would doubt you would get pregnant this soon and especially if you had intercourse during your period. Just because you had a period does not mean you ovulated.
I would treat this last period as the beginning of your cycles and have intercourse on the day you normally ovulate (somewhere around day 14).
If you are not sure when you are ovulating start taking your BBT to see.
Don't panic. After my first D&C it took me a couple of months to get pregnant but now I have a 18 month old daughter. People have babies all the time after miscarriages.

I am so sorry for your lost
had a D&C last dec, because of what your body gone throw after a misc I douth it that you could be pregnant
and also because you have sex during your period it made the chance a pregnancy could happen is slimmer
Do try to relax and also try not to have unprotected sex until you see your period again

I may be in the same situation as you. I didn't have a d&c but I did miscarry exactly one month ago. My husband and I have not used protection since. I have not had my period yet and my blood test 2 weeks ago showed an HCG level of 2 but it would have been too early for the baby to have implanted at that point. I am waiting until next Friday to take a HPT. Good luck!

After a miscarriage your body may sense loss and put your fertility into overdrive. Usually doctors recommend you wait for one period to get pregnant so it's easier to calculate when you get pregnant. You may be pregnant... Or your body may still be dealing with the trauma of the miscarriage and subsequent surgery.
One of my friends went through the same thing, she got pregnant within 6 weeks of a mis-carriage, and she gave birth to a gorgeous little girl 2 weeks ago.

your body is going to be 'out of whack' for a little bit. it still thinks it is pregnant. Your body may still be carring the hormones from the first prengnacy - that's why they tell you to wait two or three full cycles before trying to conceive again. You can get a false positive if you take a test sooner then the hormones get out of your system. You probably won't get pregnant while having sex during your period b/c you normall get pregnant when you ovulate not when you have your period.

I would say this is just your body trying to go back to normal after the misscary.
