If you are in a loving, long-term relationship and ready to handle being a mother (as accidents do happen), I would say yes. If not, I would wait until you are in that sort of state before you have sex. You will not regret it.

I had a baby at 16. She is 6 years old now. It was the hardest thing ever in my life. I had to juggle school and work and try to take care of her and do my homework. I can tell you this...if you do have sex be sure to use protection or some type of birth control. Having a baby is alot harder than you think. Just because some people are older and have sex doesnt mean that they are mature. Alot of them go around and spred diseases and use girls for whatever and however they want. Would you like to be treated that way?? You should wait for someone really special to share such a moment and then think about sharing a family with this person. It is very important and making such a decision could effect the rest of your life. Think about your goals and dreams and what you would like to acheive right now. I urge you not to think of sex and babies at this time. Have fun and be young enjoy your friends. If you feel that you would like to have sex anyway then be responsible and use protection and take care of yourself . Good luck

Age has nothing to do with it. Just because a person is 21, a legal "adult" doesn't mean they are ready for sex. I'm a married mother of 2 and looking back, I wish I had waited until marriage. While in this day and time, that's practically unheard of, I would say that someone should wait to have sex until they are completely ready, until they are with someone that they either plan on marrying or definitley see having a future with. As for children, I don't believe that people should have children until marriage, as having children out of wedlock can complicate things. But if someone plans on having a baby, they have to be sure that they know that the person with whom they are having a baby with will be in their life forever, like it or not!

If you want to have sex, weigh the consequences.
1. Have your researched which birth control is best for you?
2. Has your partner and yourself taken STD and HIV/AIDS tests so you know you both are in the clear?
3. Are you emotionally set to make a decision if you get pregnant?
4. Can you raise a baby by yourself (I doubt it)?
5. Can you give it up for adoption or can you put yourself through an abortion?
When you can answer ALL these questions with a YES, then you can have sex.

as someone who waited to have sex until marriage (i was 23)and whose lil sister had a baby at age 14 (she was way too young and had to grow up way too soon), i will recomend you wait until you know you are mature enough to accept all responsabilities that come with sex. It is such a beautiful thing between man and women that should not be taken lightly. 16 or 17 is way to young. i hope you do whats right for you.

If you are that age I dont think that it is a good idea to have a baby, more and more I hear on the news how much young people are having kids and are killing their own babies because they cannot handle it I am not for young babies having babies I am 22, yrs old and have been trying for a baby and still cannot have one but my point is the stupid people who are able to have children are just harming the innocent little babies, and killing them so I think you should wait until you are ready.

No you should not have sex at 16 or 17. Hell not even at 18. Most kids are not mature enough to handle all that - been there done that.

What... are you thinking about doing "it" or something? You shouldn't go all the way, until your mature enough to handle what happens afterwards. Besides you should definetly be in a serious relationship. Don't just give yourself away to anyone!

No you shouldnt. You will regret it when you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. I made that mistake. My husband was a virgin when we got together and he got to share that moment with me but I was unable to share it with him and that is a horrible thing I have to life with. It feels horrible. Sex is fun but it is worth waiting for.
