The current exchange rate between the yen and the $ is 116.760 to $1.00, so the straight equivalent would be $48,818.09
But with transmission fees and service charges you will actually be getting about 120yen to $1.00 so you will actually only get about $47,500.
Service fees are 3yen to one dollar. Add to that service charges, $47,500 is about what you would get.
Also, if you are bringing that money into the US, you would have to consider that you can only bring about $10,000 into the US without paying taxes. If the customs officer finds the money on you, you will have to pay tax on the money. If you wire the money in one lump sum, you will automatically be charged a tax on the money. If you wire the money in a series of smaller sums, you would save on tax, but be charged the equivalent in service charges and transmission fees. So you will have to decide what and how you will do.
Good luck.
