I can't decide. I'm thinking he'll either do a self-sacrifice thing after learning that the only way to kill Voldey is to kill himself too (I can think of about 30 different instances in which this could happen but don't feel like listing them all), or he'll defeat Voldey and live (barely).

Some people think that JKR will kill him so other people won't keep writing the books after she finishes. I disagree with this 100%. JKR has had the final chapter of DH written for many years; since before she became insanely famous. Do you honestly think that before SS was published she was worried about people wanting to write more HP books? She didn't even know if she'd be published. Seriously.

So basically, I think JKR has chosen to either kill him or not based on what would be best for the plot (duh) and I think he might die.... but I hope he doesn't. How weird would it be to hear about something not from his perspective? I mean I know it's like that in some parts already but still...

you guys must not read these books very well the answer has been known since the fourth novel when dumbeldore tells of the prophecy that harry heard in the orb. the prophecy states that one cannot live without the other so if voldermort is to die harry must die too. there lives are connected as so their deaths are connected as well. and she did say this was their final book because its the final year at hogwarts and she said she didnt want to write anymore in this series.

Well, I was listening to the news the other day and they where having a talk with J.K. Rowling about the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. All Rowling would say was that two of the main characters are going to die, thats all she would say in case she got hate mail. In my opinion, it's going to be Ron and Hermionie who are going to die, but that's just my opinion

i have no clue to b honest. harry is the main character and is always the hero though so i suppose that he would not die. but... jk rowling is supposedly going to kill off at least 2 characters, plus it may not even be the final book. it is harry's final hogwarts year (7th year) and he is palnning to b an auror so there could b another book about that. i do not think that harry will die, no.

Harry's a survivor. It's his destiny to defeat Voldemort. Personally I think that Neville Longbottom is going to play an integral part in his demise. There was always the question as to whether Harry or Neville was the chosen one. Voldemort marked Harry as the chosen one, but I have a feeling it is actually Neville and he will either kill Voldemort, or sacrafice himself to ensure his death. I think if JK killed Harry, she'd be getting hate mail for the rest of her life. Surely she realises this?? As for the 2 characters who die.....I think they will be Neville and Hagrid. Oh well, anyone but Harry eh?

i personally think he is going to, this goes with the theory that harry himself is a horxcrux and will ultimately have to destroy himself in order to destroy voldemort. However sad it might sound, it makes sense because Harry has gone through his whole life with people who have died for him, died for his sake, but he's never really been sure of why his parents, sirius, and dumbledore had to die all for him. Really it's because they love him, so i think, throughout book seven, Harry will finally realize how it's possible to love someone so much you would die for them; he'll see how much his family means to him, the weasley's, hermione, ron, ginny, and remus. He loves them all so much and at the end he'll realize this make the decision to sacrifice himself for their sake, just as so many have done for his.

it's the ultimate lesson in love.

well j.k. rowling claims, or so i've heard, that she's already written all the books is just pacing herself on the publishing
so even though the sixth book is out, the seventh book MIGHT not be the last, there's been talk that there might be an eighth book so the next book might not be the last. if he does survive the seventh book, he might die in the eighth, of course if there IS going to be an eight

No i hope not but if he doesn't then someone else besides JK might start picking up the story and writing again and i'm sure JK would not want that so she might kill harry off.

She said two very prominate charachters die I suspect it will be Voldmort and possibly Harry as the true half blood Prince will turn out to be Longbottom.
