Well my friend gave me her old phone and she had already had it deactivated and she got rid of her contract and all of that good stuff. But she gave me her phone and i know if i reset it then none of her stuff will be on it. What if i dont reset it, will it like reactivate her contract or something like that? Because i dont want to reactivated i just want to know what will happen if i make a call after reseting it, what will happen?

Once a SIM card is used (or burned as they say in the industry) It can't be reused. Now if she would go in and reconnect her account, then the SIM card would be turned back on, IF her cell phone carrier still has her phone number active on their system. Once its turned off the carrier has to keep the number unavailable for a certain number of months, if she ported her number to another carrier, then the new carrier owns the number.

Long story short, you can't turn it back on, and if you want to activate the phone again, you'll get a new SIM card and number if you don't have one already.

Once her SIM card is removed and replaced with another one, the phone's assigned telephone number is changed (its stored on the SIM card). A deactivated SIM card won't place or receive a call anyway.
