I'm puzzled that they're always talking about Dems and trees as if it is a bad thing. Why do they hate nature - it's so bizarre? Do they hate everything except money. They also talk constantly about not helping others.

They don't hate trees...it's just that they don't see the same thing when we look at a Wilderness Area. We liberals are more inclined to see the woods are an idyllic retreat, etc., etc.

A republican sees resources that can be converted into cold hard cash. That's why they are so eager to trash Alaska for the oil fix.

I did not know I hated trees. Thanks for telling me but could you have done it before I planted the 5 new ones in my yard. Or before I over ruled the pool to safe the trees in the back. What a generalized question with absolutely no facts to back it up. "Tree hugger" is just a term to describe an environmentalist that would let man die to save the trees or water or any natural product. Saving them at the cost of mankind is wasted. We want trees, clean water, wild animals & every beautiful God made item but we want our children to have life more.

Talk to John Edwards - he just built a 29,000 square foot house for 3 people. He clear cut over 100 acres of 132 acres so his children could have "somewhere to play". Do you know how big 100 acres is? He built indoor pool, air conditioned horse stalls, tennis courts, hockey & all are air conditioned. Sounds like a liberal hates trees more - I kept mine & he buzzed his down. We live close to each other.

Why do liberals always answer for conservatives? When someone calls your Mother do you answer for her to?
Once again liberals can read minds - just not correctly.
I have camped my whole life, my son & husband were Eagle Scouts, my son is an Army Ranger who snow & water skis, rock climbs, boulders, mountain bikes & hikes, camps. He chose his university to be close to mountains. Our family takes great care of our land & most of my family owns more than 20 acres each. We recycle, donate & try to reuse before replacing. Caring about the earth is not limited to a political party anymore than all the wealthy are Republicans. generalizations make people look dumb everytime.

Kind of funny you say that. I have never heard of the two being related. I am Republican and am always trying to talk my husband into cutting down the huge oak tree in our front yard. He loves the tree and won't let me - he is also Republican. I like nature I just hate my tree.

I don't know what to tell you on this one.

Republicans have the biblical viewpoint that humans are the caretakers of animals and plants, and that they exist to serve and be exploited by humans.

Democrats have the evolutionary viewpoint that humans are a menace to animals and plants, and that nature should be given the tools to help it erradicate humans whenever possible.

The sad part of what I just said above.. it's that it is true.

Republicans and democrats suck, there is no democracy in the US anymore (hasn't been for years). No country were two parties dominate for eons can be really called democratic.

Mexico was the same way and no one called them democratic.

Generally, if it dosen't benifit business, the Republicans hate it. They take the view that if it benifits the enviroment, it must take money out of their pockets. Sure this isn't the view of moderate Republicans, but the reactionary laissez faire Reps are the ones controlling the party so you make some fair statements.

republicans like to use tax money to make roads for the loggers to cut down trees cause the timber industry lobbyists pay them money. this is of course short sighted in some instances, like cutting down the national forests and such, and is really just a waste of taxpayers money for a small special interst group. Democrats dont really care that much about the environment either i suppose, but they can be on the opposite side by opposing them, and catch some votes that way.

Republicans don't hate trees. They're a lot more conservative than democrats. They may not be as hippie-like as democrats- but in no way does that mean that they hate nature, or that they don't care. You should probably find another place to get your information, because that's completely untrue.

I am offended by your sweeping generalization. I am a republican and have hugged a great many of tree. Some of my most relaxing times have been under a tree. More Republicans contribute to conservation by purchasing hunting and fishing licenses, supporting ducks unlimited, turkey wild life federation and a great deal of other worth while projects. We don't just talk about it, we actually do something about it.

You Know What?----There is not enough money or other incentives on this entire planet that could get me to agree to serve in public office after seeing what liberals are doing to those of this administration.
I did vote for him for a 2nd term----but as it turns out it was not doing him any favors-------it would serve the snot-slinging liberals right if he would quit office and turn it over to a liberal socialistic traitor.
I just wish I had the money to move to another country away from this mess ---it looks like the liberals will win the next election and this country will go straight down hill. But I'm just a nurse so it looks like I'm stuck here to take care of the mess that is sure to follow when all hell breaks loose after the liberals have their way and ruin the ideals we once held dear and clung to--------ok-------go ahead------vote for whoever you want------just remember what it USED to be like in the good old days (NOW)
