Yesterday I was able to get them to go away by laying on my side and drinking water. Tonight on the other hand it was so bad I started throwing up. Each episode last about 45 min to an hour its sharp pains right under my breast bone and goes through my back. Im going to see my doctor on monday but Im worried because I cant find anything on chest pain and pregnancy. HELP!!! Oh and I forgot to tell you the baby has already dropped I have had contractions but nothing the doctor is concerned about, and Im not dialated or effaced at all.

I know you said the baby has already dropped, but I had a lot of pain in my chest because the bigger my son got (and he was a normal weight) the more he pushed up on my other organs which compacted everything in my chest. Moving around (in your case laying on your side) would get him to move back to where I wasn't hurting. I hope this helps you a little and are not so worried. Good luck.

I have gallstones and the symptoms you're describing are what I dealt with while pregnant and even after having my baby.

I had an attack about a week before I was due. My husband rushed me to the hospital thinking I was in labor because the pain was so intense. That attack lasted 6 hours, and all from a cheese burger. :(

It's been over a year since my last 'attack' with my gallbladder still intact.

After lots of experimenting, I found that red meat, pork, high fat dairy ~ in general foods high in saturated fat, and hard to digest (meat) caused the pain. Also, laying on your back causes the stones to fall to the opening of the gallbladder, causing pain, so don't lay down after eating and drink lots of water.

If you'd like to avoid surgery to remove the gallbladder until after you have your baby/or ever (in my case), keep your diet strict to veggies, low fat dairy, chicken, turkey and fish.

Good luck!

It's probably your gall bladder- very common thing, especially with women who've had babies or are pregnant.

What did you eat? Usually fatty foods cause it- and that could mean anyting from french fries to cheese or cookies. Usually modifying your diet can help- cut out all fatty foods and see how you feel.

In some cases just changing your diet can make it go away, but in other cases surgery is used to remove the gall bladder. An ultrasound can determine whether or not its your gallbladder.

It sounds like indigestion. I had it really bad with several of my pregnancies, and it can be really painful. I felt it more in my chest during pregnancy, I assume because of my uterus pushing everything up. I never had it to cause me to throw up though, so that might be cause for concern. Have you tried taking an antacid? Maalox worked pretty good for me- the liquid.

i had the same pains when i was pregnant with my first and throwing up wouldn't help me. It hurts really bad if it is the same pain i was having I had the same pains after i had the baby and so i went to the hospital and i had gal stones and i had to get my gal bladder removed. They said that they see it more in more with pregnant women and women who just had baby's. I hope this helps.

The safest (smartest) thing to do is to step away from the computer for a minute or two and call your Dr.
