Most of the people I hang with are all college degreed engineers, chemists or IT professionals. Probably 50% are ex-military. Everybody busts their *** at work then goes home to a traditional home life with 2 parents, children, a dog, etc. Probably 99% are repubs and of them probably 75% are conservatives. I only know one or 2 libs out of all of them. So this is my picture of Repubs and conservatives...libs i am lost how they live and what makes them view the world so differently then me and my friends.

That is a very unusual group of people. Most people in America are not members of either party and are moderates. Personally I would not try to label people, including myself with terms like liberal or conservative. I evaluate each issue on its own merits and according to my beliefs not according to some prepackaged idea of what a liberal or conservative is

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2006 the average rate of People with a Bachelor’s degree or more across the United States in 2004 was 27.7%. 25 out of 31 Conservative States had a lower than average rate of People with a Bachelor’s degree or more (80% of Conservative States) versus 9 out of 20 Liberal States that had a lower than average rate of People with a Bachelor’s degree or more (45% of Liberal States). The lowest rate of People with a Bachelor’s degree or more in the country is found in West Virginia with 15.3%. The highest rate of People with a Bachelor’s degree or more in the country is found in Massachusetts with 36.7%.
