If you get an interview you should dress nice, be on time, look the interviewer in the eye and answer questions without hemming and hawing. Be prepared by knowing what the job entails and why you are the best person for the job. If you are really interested after the interview, send a thank you note so you will be remembered.

Make a list of what you are looking for and what you want to avoid in a new career path. Identify what is happening right now that you are even considering.
Then write a resume to reflect the type of position and company you want to go to work for. Then get yourself out there and network your behind off.

-UPDATE your resume immediately.
-GO FILL OUT applications while dressed as if you are going to an interview.
-MAKE SURE you try and give the application to the hiring manager, or find out the next time the hiring manager works so you can give it directly to her/him.
-NEVER EVER admit to ever being fired. Because legally your past employers cannot divulge that information to a perspective employer.
-MAKE SURE your resume is on your computer in Word format and PDF format.
-EMAIL it to every careerbuilder.com job you like
-IF YOU REALLY want that job you have to call them a few days later and make sure they went over your application.
-FAX a resume into places with fax numbers, and then attach your resume to every application you fill out.
I have a lot of experience with this.

First you need to know where your interest lies. Then you need the relevant qualifications or experiences to secure that job. Asking around among friends often help in securing interviews and the rest is up to you, i.e. your presentation, your interest, etc...

Just fill out applications, and make a resume with your work history, education, hobbies and a list of references.
Or just give out resumes everywhere with your phone
number on it.
You should get calls soon.
