Abbas is better than Hamas. He is willing to compromise and work with the West for the betterment of his people. Hamas will only insist upon the destruction of Israel and would rather stick by that idea than allow Western aid to the people. I don't think the West and Israel will recognize the unity government as long as Hamas will not bend on their issues.
