Oh yeah! And this was.........more than a few years ago. Today it is not nearly as bad as it was then, but still people remain prejudice especially when it comes to maintaining "family purity." Every race and religion, social cast has prejudice people within it. I doubt this will ever change.......so sad. Imagine what it would be like if it were mandatory to marry and bear children out of your race for X generations. Everyone would be so mixed up, but I doubt prejudice would disappear.

I've never seriously been attracted to anyone of my own race and my dad, brother and stepmom used to give me crap for that when I was younger.
Now, I'm engaged to a white/asian guy and I barely see the aforementioned side of my family, but my mom approves completely. Since my fiance's parents are two different races they don't have a problem with it either.

I "went out" with someone of a different race in 5th grade (you can see why I put went out in quotes). My stepdad gave me a hard time, my mom looked at him and said "I didn't raise her like that." I think interracial dating is becoming more acceptable over time, but there are still people who do not believe in it.

I am mixed with B/W sooooo...........no my parents do not see in colors. HOWEVER - my mom's side (white) refused to talk to her after they found out she married a black man. So the only family I know is the black side, who did not see an issue. I would hope that not many parents care about crap like that. As long as you are being treated with respect from your partner......your parents should get a grip!!

Nope... but then I found out quickly that lifestyles were what got in the way, not race.
