Invest in Jeff McBride's first video of card tricks, which gives clear instructions and demonstrates the effect. Even though I had seen the video and knew how it was done, I didn't see it coming when I saw Jeff perform on stage.

you stand to the side of whoever ur showing the trick and from behind ur ear, where they can't see, bend the cards back on themselves and let them flick out while you have ur mouth wide open
