Pex is the latest boon in house plumbing. It is easy to install, cheaper than copper and fast. The crimping tool is expensive but you can rent them. Just insure that it has been calibrated at the time you rent it. They need to be adjusted to make a watertight crimp.

Yes it is. It's easy to install, maintain and safe. You don't use heat during installation so fire hazard is nil. No toxic glues are used. I highly recommend it. And the color coding is a real plus. The one and only drawback is the tool used is around $150.00. No big deal tho. I hope this helps...Rick

Very good product. Will replace copper as the standard in the near future.

yes. im not sure if its cheaper than copper, but ive seen it used alot in construction since copper thieves dont steal it. its great for under concrete and in all radiant floor applications as well as regular plumbing. you just might need a special tool to make your couplings. but yes, i personally recommend it
