No it wouldn't. If the person was raped, that baby wasn't made by love or even by choice. That baby wasn't meant to be.

No, no....never!!! Abortion is never an easy choice, but in the case of a sexual assault victim -- it may be the only choice. In the end...it should always be the choice of the woman.

I look at some of the answers here and I am disgusted. To those people...have you ever been raped? Have you ever felt your insides torn apart? Have you ever felt like you could kill yourself because of how awful the aftermath of rape can be? Unless you have experienced that....you have no idea. And you have no right to judge. You don't know what its like.

I am pro-choice, but hope I never again have to make that choice. Now, I am hoping for a baby sometime soon. Then, I was brutally raped, and I did get pregnant. And I did have an abortion. It was the most heartbreaking moment of my life...but I wouldn't change it. If I hadn't done it, I probably would have killed myself then.

Instead...I am slowly healing from my long-ago trauma, and I am finally at a point where I can feel as though I can start my own family. Someday, my children and grandchldren will appreciate the fact that I'm here, and that I gave them life.

Rape is such an awful, invasive, violent act. I believe that we re-victimize the survivor if we subject them to a morality code that is outdated at best. And if you're going to argue my point -- at least be someone who has walked in my shoes. Otherwise...in all due respect, you have no idea.

A child is a child. I can certainly understand why someone couldn't raise a child that resulted from rape. But there are so many people out there who desperately want a child. If the person was raped, the bad part has already happened. Putting the child up for adoption and bringing someone else such a blessing would bring good out of the situation. Abortion is taking a life no matter what the reason.

NO IT ISNT WRONG AT ALL!!!
and dont listen to anyone who will tell you it is
rape is such an awful, life destroying thing as it is without the woman getting pregnant from it and being labelled as the bad guy cos she wants an abortion
women that can have a 'rape child' and raise the baby and love it have a strength not a lot of others have
and before all u anti-choice guys give me a thumbs down, im not saying babys created through rape are little monsters who dont deserve to live i just know i could never give a child the love it deserves if every time i looked at it i saw the man who raped me

NO NEVER!!!!!!!!!!

It was not a choice of the woman or a fault of hers. if she was raped it should be her choice to end the pregnancy! I dont care what the anti abortion people say this is once case where I belive it is right. I am not anti abortion or Pro just inbetween I dont belive it should be for a birth control. But the other reason i do belive it should be used is this:

If the mother is in serious danger or dying I belive a abortion is ok for her to choose. with in the time limit of course! there is a point of no return where the baby is too developed.

I know a young woman who's conception was the result of rape. Her grandmother ordered her aborted. But her mother "chickened out" at the doctor's office. When you stand her next to other teenagers, you cannot tell her life is worth any less than theirs.

I will try to explain this is a way that does not offend anyone- abortion no matter the circumstance is wrong, because it takes the life of an innocent child. I do not know if you believe in God or not, but there is a passage in Deuteronomy takes says that you can not punish the child for the sin of the father. Obviously the rapist sinned- but the baby is not to be punished, put to death for that sin. It would be hard but I know of several women who chose life for their child and then placed for adoption.

I would still suggest adoption.
I just cant bear the thought of killing an innocent child no matter what the situation.
The child deserves a chance to live. It had nothing to do with the circumstances. Adoption will give this baby a chance at life, and give the victim the opportunity to move on with their life and not have future guilt over killing the baby.
Its a complicated situation i know, but please consider adoption. Even carrying full term, u will have no attachment due to the circumstances. Consider all options first please.

I dont think abortion should be performed for this reason...once the babys heart beats abortion should be unruled. I think if a woman was raped giving baby for adoption is a wayy better choice for both..

Well some people really don't believe in abortion. But if she was raped by this man then having to have his baby would remind her of him for her whole life. I think if the girl is not ready to have this baby especially by a man who she does not love and can't help her support her then she should think about getting an aportion. This is soo sad, I am sorry for you or your friend.

I don't think it would be wrong. That person would have to look at that baby and constantly think about being raped. She might resent the baby and even though it isn't the baby's fault, the mother might take it out on the baby.
