Science proves there could be a God.
As for life forming from "nothing": do not underestimate the power of molecules. Maybe read some stuff about the RNA World, and how the very first semblances of life and living processes may have come about.
Just because it's incredibly unlikely, don't dismiss it.

I agree, but the argument for the existance of God, and for the christian God being the true God is a philosophical argument, not a scientific one.
Period.
If this is a bust on science, you should be advised that science does not declare that life came from nothing. Dogma does that, and YECism is pure dogma.
By saying "how can life form from nothing? It CAN'T." you defeat your own argument.
Try to learn a little bit about science before you attempt to argue it.
Don't you get annoyed with arguing points about the bible with people who have never read it?
It's the same thing you are doing here.

All religions make the same claims. So do those who don't believe in any. The real question is why can't Christians phrase their questions without all the judgment-passing? If YOU had a brain, you would know that's not Christian. If you had a brain, you'd also put your question in the right category. Try reading some quantum physics, unless that's too advanced for you. At least watch 'What the Bleep Do We Know.' Maybe you'll learn something.

Seeking "proof" that Christianity is the one true religion perhaps seems to disregard Christian "faith" - which seems to be a main focus of the Bible.
I'm a Christian believer that admits to not having all the answers. Darwin seems to have gotten it right in my opinion. How does this reconcile with the story of Genesis? I have some ideas, but I'm not 100% sure.
Is Creationism a necessary stepping-stone to a strong faith in Jesus as a personal saviour? I don't think so. As a "Christ"ian, my prayers are directed to the Christ Jesus. My prayers are not directed to the Book of Genesis.
P.S. The Bible also says that the sun revolves around the earth. When (in the 1600's) Galileao suggested otherwise, the Church threatened to torture him to death for heresy. But I think we can all agree now that the earth revolves around the sun.

For all its power, science cannot disprove God. In fact, science, to me at least, implies the existance of God re the Big Bang, it being the one scientifically near-proven and unique example of the creation of both matter and energy. I mean, doesn't an act of true creation imply a creator?

there is a higher power behind our existence, but it is not the so-called "god" who wants you to pray for him, and he loves us all,, all of that doesn't make sense, if you believe in heaven and hell, then you're brain washed my friend BRAIN WASHED!!.
and if you think any religion is true then you should think twice.
this is 2007 for crying out loud!! do you still believe those holy-book fairy tales??? miracles??? are you telling me that your brain can process that?? if so then you're lying,,, you're not lying to me, you're lying to yourself.
religions are made only to keep people in order, holy-books are not holy,,, they were written by people like you and me. religions.
Christ, Muhammad, Joseph...etc they are nothing but good actors, they've actually convinced millions of people with their "divine baloney".
Just believe in the higher power behind this, which could be energy or the big bang or even a living being from a different galaxy,,,, who knows!!
YOU CAN'T PROVE THAT "GOD" IS THE KIND OF GOD YOU THINK IT IS.
just live your life and don't worry... because i guarantee you that when you die.. you die,,,,,,,,,, angels will not pay you a visit and you wont be living anywhere higher than 6 feet under.

I've taken plenty of stat classes and mathematically, you can prove that there's something else working among science. I don't know if it's "God" or energy or what. I think it's ignorant of one to assume that ONE religion is totally correct and there's no other answer. You need to read up on other religions and also more on science and evolution. I'm not saying you have to change your mind about what you believe, but know enough about other possibilities to see someone elses point of view.

Last I checked, my brain was OK, thanks for asking.
Your assumption that something is impossible is without foundation. Give 100 billion stars and 300 billion planets around them and 3 billion years of existence then thats a lot of radiation, chemicals, weather systems and sheer statistics. Somewhere in the galaxy, "I love Veronica" was spelled out in Times New Roman in raindrops. Probably before the English language was invented.
With those stats ANYTHING is possible.

yeah. this is a sticky topic. using our "brains", and thus invoking rationality, it's just as hard to see we can from nothing, as it is to see God coming from nothing. Rationalizing the existence of God seems to be self defeating. That is not to say it can be rationalized, however, I don't believe our minds could. I am not a unbeliever though. In the end, even with a flimsy rationalization, God seems to be the only idea worthy of my belief.

Science disproved most of the nonsense in the Bible a long time ago. If science proves God, How come the vast majority of scientists are atheists?
