We used over'n out last year, is it the best or is there something else we could use for treating the whole yard? The over'n out was $20.00 a bag and we spread a few bags on about a half an acre. Is there any other way to treat this?

The ants art horrible, every time it rains, little piles come out from nowhere. My kids sometimes get into them and it just breaks my heart.

I dont mind spending the money, I just want to know what works.... Any ideas?

Here's the best site I've found yet for managing fireants.

http://fireants.tamu.edu/

Here are links to both products you mention:
Over 'N Out

Amdro

I personally use and recommend Over'NOut as well as mound treatment with Diatomaceous Earth (DE is available at Lowe's I know for sure), but I do it in the Two Step Method... http://fireants.tamu.edu/management/twostep.cfm

Happy Yardening!
