Limewire has the same legal status as a photocopier or CD-burner.
As long as the owners/builders did not intend it to be used for illegal purposes, and do not advocate illegal use, then they are protected.
In much the same way that Ford Motor Cars is not directly liable for individuals who are convicted of speeding or drunk driving.
But anyone who actually uses the device/system to make unauthorized copies is liable for copyright infringement.

Seven people in south Florida had law suits filed against them within the past month for downloading music off it if that tells you anything.

Limiwire itself is not illegal but using it to download files that are copyrighted is. You can legally use to exchange files that are allowed to be exchanged by the creator of the files.

No, and that i'm hoping you're no longer, yet throughout the time of the time i replace into utilising those classes, I consistently took the downloads out of the acquire folder and placed them right into a seperate folder on my laptop, I often stored a pair small archives in there for the sake of sharing. yet i've got on the grounds that stopped utilising them because of the fact of each and every of the viruses.

I use it weekly and I have never gotten any viruses or anything from it. I don't know if it's legal or not but I don't download thousands of songs, just a few every month. So I'm not to worried about it.
