Your clutch packs are chattering inside the diff carrier.

Differential clutch packs chattering know concern on all Fords with 8.8 posi trac differential..Sometimes adding what Ford calls friction modifier to the rear end oil and driving in circles to work the modifier into the clutch material works..This has no effect on rear differential operation except noise...Oh ya if you put modifier in don,t spill it on you cause it really stinks

i own a repair shop,and on most of these it was the tire that caused this to happen,even though they look like they,ll clear sometimes they will rub a little when you turn from side to side,if its the tires,you,ll see a dark rubber spot on the tire its self on the inside of it,that will be the point its rubbing at,good luck i hope this helps.

maybe your tires are too wide and rubbing on the fender wells.

maybe your tires are hitting on the inside inner fenderwells, are your tires wider than what came on the car origionally?
