I am, (and always have been) very "Protective of my two girls, who are 14 years apart.. My youngest is now, 12 years old, like yours.. and well, I do not allow her to wear, or show anything that can draw attention to herself.. For the simple fact, life isn't like when I was a kid, (in the 70s), and there's many abduction's today, and even on the news you'll hear about even a (wierdo neighbor abducting a child), and these types of things "Scare me to death".. So, I not only am very "protective" of what they wear, but who they hang around, or where they go, and my youngest even has to phone me, when she's gone to the store with her friends to tell me when she's made it safely across the street, those sort's of things, because you "NEVER" can be too safe, with your children, son's included!! So, for 'Summer-Wear', my youngest has to wear, the kinds of bathing suit's that cover as much as possible.. I dont make here wear "whole peices" but I do insist on those kinds that have the skirt, on top and on the bottom.. And we both thing there adorable!!! Her older sister is now, 26 but she thinks I'm way to "Over-protective" of her little sister, but she doesn't remember the days when I was the same way with her! She couldn't even be "Babysat" unless it was family!! And when family absolutely couldn't watch her, I either stayed home , or got only my closest friends to watch her, that I absolutely knew I could trust!! And when I remind her of those days, she'll lighten-up on me, a bit.. I just think if you have a "tall" daughter, as I do, people have a tendecy to think she's a "Grown-up" until they get close enough too see, she's actually still just a child.. "Pre-teen" anyway.. Both of my girls are really tall, and when I go too the stores, my youngest daughter will help me get things maybe an isle over or two, and when she comes back with them, I'll be looking at her looking at things on the shelf thinking she's a "Grown" woman doing her shopping , until I realize its her!!! My own daughter!! And it kind of makes me "proud" of her, but at the same token afraid for her too!! So, if I were you, I would just be conservative as long as you can!! You know.. good luck, picking her bathing suit... smile!!!!

u didn't give any idea of what u look like, so i didn't pick out any specifics, but here are some stores swimsuit pages, hope it helps!

these should be perfect for a 12 yr old:
http://www.limitedtoo.com/catlanding.php?id=7

maybe a tad mature, but if you're, *wink wink* well developed, they should work:
http://www.abercrombiekids.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10101_10851_325956_-1_12172

i think these are perfect, the only problem is that they could be too big:
http://www.ae.com/web/browse/category_womens_guide.jsp?rcid=womens&scid=cat90032&navroot=womens

these should be really good for 12 yr olds too, there's so many choices:

if these are too expensive or whatever just go to kohls or target!

For the girl: so some distance as i be attentive to, maximum women at that age like Hannah Montana, and that i'm exceedingly advantageous they make hannah montana dolls. So in keeping with risk that, or different Hannah Montana merchandise? additionally, a friendship bracelet kit, or different rings kit, they have a tendency to be under $20. OR, in keeping with risk nail polish or little age suited makeup kits. i'm advantageous it may be exciting for her, and in keeping with risk a kinfolk member or nurse can help her paint her nails, and placed on lip gloss. For the boy: i rather am no longer so advantageous what 12 12 months old boys like, so i'm no longer likely to have as many as for the girl. yet, in keeping with risk a comfortable soccer he can merely play seize with somebody. merely make advantageous it rather is a comfortable one! do no longer desire any broken well-being facility kit! yet another factor is small hand held video games. some varieties might nicely be greater much less costly than $20. Monopoly, and puzzles, might nicely be huge hits too, as nicely as lots of of alternative board video games.

A 12 year old is still a child! I don't recommend a two piece for a child who wants to swim, jump, you know..... be a KID. two pieces are well known for slipping off, I've known many friends and celebrities who lose one piece in the water.... I don't think that's a good idea.

There are many styles out there, I'm sure you can find something fun, hip, her age.

Definitely a one piece. If you're 12, only a perv wants to see your body in a bikini.

Bikinis are really in right now so if you have the body go for it. Try target or h&m cuz theyre really inexpensive there. And dont get bandeau tops because they make you look completely flat lol

nothing too revealing or slutty!

im sure any type would be fine but you'r eprobably still growing so i wouldnt buy a really expensive one cause it might not fit next year especially if your boobs get bigger which they probably will lol

so try a bikini, tankini or one piece.

At your age I loved tankinis or bikini's that didn't reveal to much. Try alloy or Pink's (Victoria Secrets) new swimwear line.
