a friends gave me an ipod and it has her playlist on it and i want to erase hers and put my own on. She also didn't give me the computer hook ups. My sister gave me hers. Can i do that?

Yep, not a problem. First time you hook it up to the computer it will tell you the ipod is currently synced to another library and it will ask you if you want to sync it to the library currently on your computer. Hit yes, and it will automatically erase everything on it and replace it with what is on your computer. As for what cable to use, it doesn't matter whether it came with the iPod or not, they're all the same.

yes, and if you sync it with your itunes music library it will erase the other persons playlist.

you do no longer. you should apply iTunes. I get carry of my music with the aid of limewire. Then I open up iTunes with my iPod linked and that i drag the songs from limewire into my iPod library on iTunes. it rather is common. yet you should apply iTunes to characteristic the songs. sturdy success!

what you have is a damn piece of junk. sucker! aint worth buying parts and fixing up. see, that is what friends do. you ever heard that song from the sixties about "lying face?" they will stab you in the back. Ummmm huh?
