As the other reader indicated, you may be experiencing some kind of arrthymia, or "funny beats of your heart". Without the presence of other symptoms, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, dizzyness, sweating , fainting and so on, these funny beats may be "just a nuisance". However, it would be a good idea to see your MD and tell him of these episodes. A twelve lead EKG and testing as the MD determines will possibly "catch" some of these unusual beats, and help them to determine a course of action if necessary.

If you have any alteration in your normal heart rhythm you can sometime sense it as a "palpitation". Stress and anxiety can cause you to have a sense of your heart "jumping" inside of your chest. Nonetheless, if you have noticed a change in your normal heart beat that has happened more than once you should go to the doctor. A fairly sizable percentage of the human population has some type of cardiac "arrhythmia" many of which are absolutely benign, but you need to know what you have. Remember, play it smart, its your heart.

You could have an irregular heart beat and should be checked out by a physician. Keep a record of the symptoms until you get there.
