just like with humans...if its doing all the work and taking care of everything for little thanks or appreciation, its a female.....if its bossy and lazy, its a male.

First ,now listen carefully, you take two grapes,hollow them out leaving a little opening in the side for the ant and then with a hair from a horse or your neighbors cat, paint on one; mens and on the other; womens. let your loyal little pismire offer his own answer by his actions. Good luck with that. I hope it goes smoother than when I tried to identify the gender of a mongoose (just to pass the time).

All worker ants are females. Males have wings and fly off to mate with a queen. All of them are girls, regardless of what kids movies have said *ant bully, antz, a bug's life...*

Carefully pick it up, turn it around and look between its back legs. If you see an extra appendage, it's a male.
