I have read it and we have been through FPU (his Financial Peace University 13 week program). This last year has been the first year of our 7 year marriage that we didn't fight about money!! We also paid off over $15K in debt and have taken emergencies in strides.

Great program, great common sense everyone should follow!

I checked out The Total Money Makeover from my local library and have access to the Financial Peace University audiobook set, but I haven't found it to be the life-changing catalyst most others seem to find it. I have been pretty good with my money and have never been in debt, never late on a credit card payment, never carried a balance, etc. Dave Ramsey seems to think that credit cards are evil because it puts you in debt, if only for a few days until you pay your bill, but I think that it's just that so many people haven't used them properly. In order to own a home, you need to have a mortgage, which is a debt. I hope that will be the only major debt I incur, but I view graduate school as an investment in my future so I may try to get a student loan.
