I am 41 weeks pregnant and having contractions every 5 minutes with cramps that go into my lower back but this is not the first time this has happened, ive had this on and off all week and then they go away, but now I am starting to feel nausous which is different. I want to call the dr to see what he says but if he tells me to go to the hospital and i get there and they tell me its false im going to be upset. COuld this be the real thing? And if its not would they really send someone home at 41 weeks or would they give me something to help me out? Thanks! Also i had a membrane sweep on wed and thurs, had bloody mucus on thurs night with a set of contractions...I was 2 cm and 95% effaced on thurs....any input?

Sounds like the real thing to me. But here's a trick I've used. If the contractions started while you were sitting or lying around, walk around a while and see if they stop. If they started while you were active, lie down and rest awhile to see if they stop. If changing your activity level doesn't stop them this is probably it- call the doctor! congratulations!

GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!! Sweetie, you are 41 weeks, normal pregnancy is 40 weeks and there is no reason to go past 40 weeks. I am sure that the hospital will keep you and most likely give you some petocin. You might even be having back labor and that is normal. I am 38 weeks pregnant and passing my time right now answering peoples questions because I am having early labor contractions. I will go to the hospital when my contractions are closer, but yeah..my back is sore right now.

Sounds like your in the real thing but I'm not a doctor however I do know labour can start weeks before and feels like it lasts forever from what i understand the standard for the hospitals to keep you is 4cm dilated - get to the doctor baby coming soon and you need to make sure that new joy in not in danger

I say go! If you get there and are showing signs of labor, they will probably do something like break your water since you're already there... it's worth a shot.

I know how disappointing it to see your due date come and go.. and you're still pregnant with no real promise of a delivery any time soon. My 1st child was 2 days overdue, my 2nd was 9 days, my 3rd was 9 days, my fourth was 1 day. It's frustrating as all get out!

Good luck!

At 41 weeks, personally I would go to the hospital and if I stopped progressing I would DEMAND they induce me. But thats just me.

It sounds like this is the real deal...I would go to the hospital now....I doubt they would send you home at this point..they will probably keep you and if its not progressing on its own then they will induce to help you along....Good Luck!

you should go to the doctors even if you think that it will be a false conclusion. it's better to be safe then sorry since you've been experiencing symptoms off and on. a doctor can look at you and tell you if there is something wrong with the baby or if it's just braxton hicks your having. please for the baby sakes just go to the doctor and get yourself checked out before you regret it.

If you had a membrane sweep...GO GO GO.....and if they want to send you home tell them hell no induce me. Both my children were induced the first at 42 wks and the other at 40 wks...if the baby don't come out soon then there could be bigger problems then just false labor.......GOOD LUCK!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!
