My computer recently crashed. This one is a spare. When I turn it on it startes up like it should it says HP then it goes to the XP screen then it just starts all over agin. I called HP and they were no help. The computer didn't come with start up disks either. Have any ideas on how to fix it or what's wrong.

while the 3rd answer is good, try hitting F8 come up in safe mode an see if you can plug in a usb external drive and save your data, if so then use the restore function and then reload your data. you may also want to go to F8 and try using "last known good" first since you have not logged into the computer yet.

When the HP screen pops up press f10 until the system restore screen comes up, and press restore.
Your computer will delete all your personal documents and any change made after you first bought it, and returns to how it was like when you first bought it.
Good luck.
