I was brought up differently and I would be ashamed to be the way she is. She even invites herself and boyfriend over for dinner and stuff. How do I get her to stop asking me? I have learnt how to say no but I feel she is a bit of a user? I dont have many friends so cant afford to lose her and she is fun to be with. I have my own children and bills to pay and am responsible but she isnt working and see's me as successful... dont want to be a tightarse, so wot can I do?

That's easy, don't be ashamed to say no and really mean it. If she is fun to be with, continue to spend time with her but setup limits and command respect.
As far as the statement "I don't have many friends", surely you don't think such a person could be a true friend.

Lose her- she's no friend she's a mooch. You can't afford to keep her.
