right before you put them in the washer spray the sharpie area with WD-40 it will loosen up the ink from the cloth, then pour the soap onto the area and rub the material together, then place in machine and wash. Check it when they come out before you put them in the drier you may have to do it twice. Also afterwards run a wash cycle with just soap and no clothes to get any remaining WD-40 out of the washer.

You need to soak your jeans in plain old rubbing alcohol. Let them soak for at least 24 hours. Spray the writing with a normal laundry stain remover and then wash them on the heavy stain cycle of your machine. If this doesn't work, you'll need to get yourself a new pair of jeans... and perhaps new friends.

i haven't tried it yet, but i heard hairspray works.
