In some ways yes. If they see a woman in trouble, they should be willing to help I think. Although these days, even that's a tough call. You don't know if the woman has a gun if she is alone on the side of a road just waiting for some "nice" guy to stop so she can rob him. And if she is being attacked, you never know what can happen to you if you step in. I think calling for help is something anyone man or woman should do for someone if they are being attacked. The person knows their limits and can make a decision to get involve physically in that or not. As far as emotionally hurt, I think men should tell women the truth about things even if it will hurt them because it will be much worse in the long run if they find out somewhere else. In general, you can't protect us from everything and there's gonna be times we get hurt no matter what support we have from a man in our life.

No, I do not think men should have to protect women from getting hurt any more then they should protect another man. We are all equal. The law is the same for both a man and woman. When a man calls the law for help, a woman can show up just as well as a man in that police uniform. Women serve right along side of men in the military and they die along side them too.

Only if he's the one hurting her, he has the responsibility to stop himself from doing so - but, some men are very kind and will help a woman who needs help, and without expectation.

Not anymore, in the USA. In my wife's country, I am obligated and pleased to protect her honor and her person. It is a responsibility until it becomes politically incorrect. Here, it is not needed anymore. Chivalry is dead and was killed by equal rights. Maybe women should be protecting me??? Don't get me wrong, I tried to keep Chivalry alive, but being punched by a woman who said she can get her own door, killed it in me here in the USA.

A real man would protect a woman and would do it without thinking. I know that my husband and my male family members would definetly do whatever they had to do to protect me and the other women in my family. They definetly look at it as being a responsibilty.

Nope, you hear women say all the time "I don't need a man". If they are so independent and do not need a man, then they can protect themselves from getting hurt.
