It's also gone on since the dawn of time. Hell, even animals masturbate- what do you think a dog is doing when he humps your leg?

Why?? Because it feels good and relieves tension
When did it start?? I'd say about the time we evolved to the point where our hands could reach our genitals

masterbation is a normal part of human sexualtity. People masterbate too feel good and too release sexual tension. there is nothing at all wrong with doing it.
