OH MY GOSH I can't believe you are STILL feeding that kid in the night at his age. Babies do NOT need middle of the night nutrition at 7 months. YOu are just reinforcing his bad habit of waking in the night every time you go in there, let alone give him a reward for waking in the night. LET HIM CRY. At his age it will take a very short time for him to be retrained. Do not reinforce his crying with attention. It will not hurt him physically or scar him emotionally. In 3-7 days you will all be getting a good nights sleep.

My 7 month old sleeps through the night anywhere from 8 pm to 7:30 am but don't complain or worry about the 2:30 am feeding. Around 2 1/2 months I was given some advise by a co-worker that magically worked. I would get up in the middle of the night 2 or 3 am for a late night feeding and be tired as I don't know what come time to get up for work. he suggested that when he'd get up and cry for a bottle to give him his pacifier instead (I'm not sure if your baby takes a pacifier but it worked). The first week he'd still wake up and cry for his bottle but as soon as I gave him the pacifier he'd fall right back to sleep. After about 3-4 weeks he didn't wake up at all during the night. If this doesn't work or your child doesn't take a pacifier try waking him/her up before you go to bed (10 or 11 pm) and giving a bottle that will hold the little bugger over until morning. Good luck; hope it works!!

I had to get in the mind set that just because my son wakes up, it doesn't mean he has to eat. Once I decided I wouldn't get him up to eat, I just put a pacifier in and he fell back asleep. You might want to try a diaper change if he is sensitive to a wet diaper.
If you are putting him to sleep at 6:30, make sure he is still awake or at most drowsy. If he is asleep when he goes to bed he may not know how to soothe himself back to sleep when he wakes up at 2:30.
Don't give up...I hate to say it but my breast fed son has been sleeping from 6:30pm to 6:30am since 4mo....so there is hope for you to get a full night's sleep. He does that random wake up once and awhile and I just have to put his pacifier back in. If he'll take a little more formula for that last feeding, give that a try. Also try to soothe him before he goes into a full blown cry.,..you'll have a better chance of him falling back asleep. Little by little he'll get there!

Sounds like he is doing pretty good. I would wait till he is a little older to try to cut that feeding out. maybee a couple of months ulness he starts only eating 1-2 ounces before that. When you want to cut that feeding out you may have to let him cry for a little while. As long as you know he is not really hungry and just got used to waking up it wont hurt him to cry a little even though it is so very hard to do.

I'm sure you've heard that all babies are different...that said, I'd be trying to put him down for the night a little later. I bet if you could keep him awake until at least 8:00, he might sleep through that 2:30 feeding.
One of my kids didn't sleep through the night until she was almost 2 1/2. It was miserable and although we tried everything we could think of and other's suggestions, she woke EVERY night, several times.

He'll sleep through the night when he's ready. He sounds like he's pretty close to it now. Actually, you have a really good schedule going even though I know you don't think so at this point. The night that he does sleep all night, you're going to wake up in the morning wondering what's wrong.

Your child is sleeping eight hours at one shot! OMG. I know a lot of parents who would LOVE to switch babies for that!! Try keeping him up a little later in the evening, like to maybe 7:30 or 8:00 so you get a little more sleep in the middle of the night, but otherwise, that's not tot shabby!
