a face scrub washes away dirt and oils. where as an exfoliator actually scrubs off dead skin cells. and yes... you can use them both. just on alternating days.

Exfoliate is a term used to describe the removal of dead skin cells from the skins surface. It can be done two ways, mechanically (scrub) or chemically (Beta Hydroxy Acid or Alpha Hydroxy Acid). Scubs can be too harsh, as they scrape the surface. Chemical exfoliants are awesome. Try Paula's Choice...

a face scrub is like your regular facial wash it just remove oils and dirts, while an exfoliator is like a moisturizer it removes dead skin cells and any other blemishes and could give you a whiter skin complexion but word of advice exfoliators are really strong so consult a doctor first to get what is suited for your skin cause it may give irritation and could make your skin very thin and be prone to further more damage ^^,

Face scrub- Cleans the face, washing away any dirt, oil, makeup or residue from the face. Negative: doesnt wash away dead skin cells/flakes
Exfoliator: Scrapes away dead skin cells and paritcles, while cleaning away any dirt, or oils. Negative: May hurt or make your face red and itchy. It scratches at your face(little beads or rock-like particles.)
