Either pull the bottom pan (rear wheel drive) or the end pan (transaxle). The solenoids are in there, usually held by a clip and small bolt,

it depends on what type of vehicle you have, the cars I've done have a back or side cover on the transmission, you have to remove that cover and that is where the lockout switch is located, you have to rewire it but it's not that hard if you are familiar with this kind of work.
