i'm the kind of guy who likes to play a whole series of a game in order. Like the Legend of Zelda, I like to play the whole series in order because I like to play Link's history from start to finish. But what's Zelda's timeline of games. All the games that were came out over the years are not in order to the true timeline. for example the windwaker came out before twilight princess but twilight princess events happen before windwaker. is this right:

The legend of zelda
The legend of zelda 2: The adventuter of link
The legend of zleda: A link to the past
The legend of zelda: Link's awakning
The legend of zleda: Ocarina of TIme
The legend of zelda: Majora's Mask
The legend of zelda: twilight princess
The legend of zelda: Oracle
The legend of zelda: The windwaker

Oracle is the oraclae of seasons/sages for gameboy. four swords isn't a real zelda game though only multiplayer. can somebody please give me a precise timeline.

Well, Miyamoto has said that there is a "master document" that has the Zelda time line all figured out, but it has never been released. In a recent interview Aonuma said that there are actually 2 universes that the series takes place. It has something to do with Ocarina of Time's scene where kid Link and Zelda are talking. To keep it short: Twilight Princess takes place in the universe of the kid Link in OoT where the events of OoT didn't take place. Which brings up even more questions.

Wind Waker takes place in the universe of the adult Link in OoT. I don't know where this would put Link to the Past or the first Zelda though. Aonuma said he would try to patch up the time line as best he could, but good luck with that.

I just recently read that so I have no idea where all of the games fall into place now. My view on the Zelda time line is all messed up now. I just want them to give us a clue about it. Honestly, I think they are just winging it and have no real idea as to what is going on.

there is not any valid Zelda timeline to this factor, and it reasons a number of of conflict, yet right here is mine: Skyward Sword Ocarina of Time Now, at this factor, the timeline splits using fact there are 2 endings for Ocarina of Time: one for grownup hyperlink and one for youthful hyperlink. grownup Timeline: A hyperlink to the previous Oracle of a while/Oracle of Seasons The Wind Waker Phantom Hourglass hyperlink's Awakening Spirit Tracks??? NOW, the baby Timeline: Majora's mask Twilight Princess The Minish Cap 4 Swords The Legend of Zelda Zelda II: the journey of hyperlink understand that the countless links are thoroughly distinctive links after generations have handed from activity to activity.

Here's my timeline theory:

Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Oracle
Twilight Princess
Wind Waker
A Link to the Past
Link's Awakening
Legend of Zelda
Zelda 2: Adventure of Link

Also note that if there IS a master timeline to the Zelda series, it's definately NOT the same Link and Zelda in every game. For instance, Wind Waker tells us that the Link in that game is definately not the same Hero of Time from Ocarina....he's just descended from that hero. I believe that Ganondorf is the same in all the games, but some people would dispute that.
It's all in what you take from the games. There are flaws in my timeline, but there's no real way to prove whether I'm absolutely right or absolutely wrong. Only Miyamoto can confirm a Zelda timeline.

I know its confusing too but I think there's no particular order that they go, it's like shattered. I have played The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme;
The legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask;
and are currently playing the Twilight Princess, I have played the Windwaker but never completed it!

Sorry to say this but the legend of zelda series doesn't have an exact time line at all. All of the games in the series each have a different time period and are just another story or separate game from the series. They only thing they have in common are the characters, setting, and items. None of the game are a continuation of the previous one. So to answer your question there is no time line.
