Not stuff like emotion, consciousness, intelligence, since people with diseases or mental disorders can lose those aspects of humanity.

I need something deeper than all of those.
Something deep down, genuine, that makes us human.

I think I understand what you mean.
People or most people have some kind of damage or emotional disorder, even "normal" people. Do you know what I feel makes a person human? It is this spirit spark. This inner Light, which every human carries under all this rubbish, under the confusion, under intellectual considerations.
Spirit makes us human. The inner Light, that part which can connect to the heavens, to vibrations of Love and Grace.
Yes, you are true, this is something deep down and genuine.
It is spirit and spirit comes from a different sphere, it comes from paradise and incarnates into a body to become conscious, and after our long journey here in the material world we return as fully conscious human beings back to paradise. Not many people are conscious about what makes them really human. You are apparently on your way to consciousness.

As we know there are many types of bipedal humanoid beings, and if you don't believe just entertain the idea for a moment. I don't agree its the spirit that defines human more so homo sapien specifically. It is the DNA and the inner type of matter that acts as the life force stemming from a main source. Humans seem to be positive (all things a duality having a polar opposite both reliant on the other existing to have life, balance.) Where as some life forms lack light matter and are not just filled by but fully are dark matter, the negative that balances the scale.

Human nature is love, compassion, purely light being traits despite some saying our nature is nasty. Observe a baby, pure human nature. If this baby grows to be a killer its from the inner light going out. Darkness is not tangible, it is a lack of light. We don't have a switch on the wall we flip to turn the darkness on at bed time. We just turn the light off.

All behavioral issues that negatively exist are a lack of light in whatever area that was deprived. A lack of a positive essence being light matter was not there and the lack of light created a polar opposite effect of negativity and void (darkness, empty space, again not an actual force but a lack of one.)

A home sapien or human is defined by being alive due to light matter aka the human soul. Double helix DNA as well, if our DNA blossomed further then in evolving we would surely take on a new classification to mark the change.

Most know the only thing making us conscious and aware of ourselves over the limited level of animals is the frontal lobe of the brain. So fragile a hit to the area causing damage can render a loving person unable to have care, compassion, morals, now able to kill their family without knowing what the big deal was.

Speaking purely physical anatomy this one part, the frontal lobe, is what fully sets us apart from animals and modifies our behavior to where we have strong moral conflict and I cannot stress enough the importance of BELIEFS.

Light matter, frontal lobe, DNA, I'd say these are the main three factors and it seems they all lead to the two big things that make us human....morals and beliefs. Also self awareness and concept of time past, present, and future.

I'd say: what makes a human a person. We all born humans, as belonging to the human race. Different is becoming a person, that is an entity that build itself through school, parents, environment, etc.
What does make us persons? The 'thought'!
All things derive from the thought. Nothing could exist without it. When a man fall in a deep coma, where the brain will operate not on his life, we say that he vegetates, that is he lives only 'cause he's supported by machines. So the thought makes us persons.

Are you looking for something that can not be lost? Impossible. What makes us human is not our imperfection, we are what we are. What makes you human is everything that does not make you inhuman.

"Nature engenders nature, and nature only, in its reproduction and in its life. The rose brings forth more roses, never anything ‘unnatural’ or ‘unrose-like’. The human being creates humanity, but with this difference: what is human can at the same time be either ‘human’ or ‘inhuman’. The results of human action range from creations which fill our hearts and souls with lasting strength and delight, to crimes whose shame no atonement can wipe off the face of the earth.

The human being — and only the human being — can create something inhuman. Thus, insofar as the inhuman deed has been done by a human being, it is a human deed, an inhuman human deed. ‘An inhuman human action’ or ‘an inhuman human life’, may sound illogical, but these utterances describe a certain reality with perfect accuracy. If we want to call their meaning ‘contradictory’, then this contradiction expresses the truth of a contradictory reality, a contradictory life. And it is because they convey a truth of life, that we are compelled to look at them, even if logic can't cope with them. Let us attempt to disentangle their complex underlying content."

the fact that we have a soul... that we can choose.... that even as a baby there is an existence and tendency unexplainable that life has not touched and yet it is still there in a persons being... a being that exists even without a body or mind.

Spiritual human beings... we are not even solid... why hold a flashlight to the palm of your hand... does not the light shine right through? We are spiritual beings of God who is evolving into Pure non-physical and physical Love in a single timeless sphere. Our true selves cannot be harmed by the things you state ever. We are God... God is in all and is all.
