I have to reccomend my all-time favorite book, "The Catcher in The Rye." A classic and great for any one of any age. There's a book out called "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints" that's also really good. They recently turned it into a Robert Downey Junior film. If you want darker subject matter, try "Night" by Elie Wiesel. It's the memoirs of a Holocaust survivor.

All the Harry Potter books are great. You may also like the Secret Life of Bees, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the same author has another book now as well. There is also a series of books by J Mintor..The Insiders is the name of the series. Good luck, glad you like to read.

I don't know if the subject matter of this is a little too much for your age, but I read this book called White Oleander, which reminds me of The Lovely Bones. It's very tragic, but incredibly amazing. You might also enjoy The Virgin Suicides. Both of these books have kind of heavy subject matter, but you might want to give them a shot when you're a little older. I read them both when I was 16.

When I was about your age, I discovered "Ivanhoe": a compelling romantic adventure, with some laugh-out-loud scenes. And as a sophomore in high school, I found "A Tale of Two Cities" a page-turner. Perhaps you think the classics are not for you, but once you've experienced them, "young adult" fiction feels more "young" than "adult." Challenge yourself!

why dont you LOVE vampire books? that's like the best genre when it comes to romance stories.
but well, you're only 14 you may not want to read anything with sex in it.
uhm.... iread lots of books but im clueless on what to give to you.
okay, if you decided to compromise this im-a-little-girl-only-with-cute-teen-books attitude, read these that i so LOVE:
every series by charlaine harris, everything written by tami hoag, prism (very good book),

Amazing reading, and easy to read because it is written by an author who was an able novelist and master of words:
H. G. Wells: Outline of History
