I was on on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, but it seems to be one of the most expensive brands, and there's no generic. :(

I just need an answer to my question, not off the subject advice please.

I will not go to planned parenthood, because part of thier money goes for pro-choice things and I am pro-life.

As for the Health Department, I don't want to have to have another exam. I will only go to my regular OB/GYN. I have a perscription that is good till October, I just want something cheaper.

We don't like condoms and other 'on the spot' types of birth control.

The regular OrthoTriCyclen does have a generic called Trinessa (or Trivessa) I can't remember which. Not sure if you specifically wanted a low-dose, but that is an idea.

First of all I just want to say that I wish I could give more than one thumbs down to PraazHym... I hate it when people assume that you aren't married if you're on birth control and then they get on their high horse and start preaching! Drives me crazy!
Anyway to answer your question,,,call your dr. Explain that you need a different prescription because of the cost. They should give you a different one or if you're lucky and have a nice dr they might give you freebies that they've gotten from the pharmaceutical companies. A few years ago I had to have surgery and my pill was too expensive for me and my dr hooked me up like that. I ended up getting almost the whole years worth for free...now that's a good dr!

Where you live do they not have a Health Department? Usually depending on your salary, you don't have to pay anything for that sort of stuff, or if you do you don't have to pay much. You may have to wait a while in the waiting room b4 you see a doctor but for free it's worth it, b/c I am on the Nuva Ring and it's expensive too!

Have your husband use a condom. They are safer than pills and cheaper than the pills too.

The responsibility of birth control is not only the woman's responsibility, it is the man's too. It takes two to tango!

In my experience, the cheapest low dose generic birth control pill is Aviane (generic of Alesse). That's what I use.

Check out Planned Parenthood. They have sliding scales for meds and exams.

Do yourealize that there is birth control out there for the men, and pretty cheap as well as effective?
