Hi there my friend, I am Scottish now living near London.
The damage to paint or bodywork.m.arks should come off with either T-cut or Mer polish, if u get T-cut dont forget to get the one for metallic paint. U can also pop up to a car body shop and take an empty bottle with you, they will give you a spirit wipe which should do the trick, hopefully its only rubber marks. The bodyshop may ive u the spirit wipe for free.
Good luck

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge. It's a household invention, but I used it to remove black boot rubber from a white painted wall and it did it no problem and with zero damage to the paint.
It cleans gentle and it cleans TUFF! And NO, I am not kidding.
Pick 'em up at Wal-Mart for about $3.50 a pair.

u can try carb sprayed on a towel. if the paint finish is older then a few months, u can spray directly on the painted surface. it wont harm the paint but will leave a dull finish as it will remove all waxes. reapllie the wax after youve removed the tire rubber.

A quick wipe with cellulose thinners (depending on paint) safe briefly on modern 2k surfaces, aerosol painted areas or 1k should be avoided, along with plastics.
do not ever use abrasive cleaners/pads to remove anything

Krazy is correct ... the Mr Clean 'magic sponge' is AMAZING ...
Scotch has recently made a similar product, "Scotch-Brite Easy Erase" and it costs less for the same job ...
