Does anyone out there think as I do that the phone in VOTES on reality shows are rigged?

I'm not sure, but it is possible for them to be rigged.

For example we never know how many votes contestants receive on American Idol. Who's to say that the powers that be don't falsely give someone's votes to a contestant they want to see remain on the show.

It is bad enough to pay for a tv licence and digital tv, paying to cast votes on a tv show is really taking the ****. I have never cast any votes on these programmes and people who do, must have more money than sense. These reality programmes are lazy tv programming and are used as a method of making money. On both the euro rubbish and Dancing on Ice tonight all the votes were scrapped after the first round of voting. This meant that people who had voted earlier, had to pay again, if they were stupid enough. The quizzes are an even bigger rip off. No-one should phone in.

Not rigged , just easy to manipulate because you vote in the affirmative and not in the negative. You should vote for who should leave a show. It would mean less calls but it is harder to stack the ballot box without knowing who everyone else is voting for.

Of course there is the fact that Cingular subscribers are primarily in the south.

i think they are all selected by the producers so that the interest in the programme is prolonged - they are all just a big rip off money making scam
