Anyone have suggestions of what to do with several boxes of nearly new , mostly hardcover books? Many Readers Digest condensed books, fiction, some reference. The library doesn't want them, nor do the two nursing homes in our area. I refuse to throw away books, but they are taking up space and my sister doesn't want them.

During my visits in Brisbane, Australia, I usually went to some charity shops selling nearly every used/second-hand books and things, some items were never used. I think you may contact some churches and inform those in charge on the books, it should be a good idea to donate them since some avid readers are waiting for their favorite titles.

See if you have a chapter of Freecycle in your community. You can join and offer just about anything to other members.
