What makes you think that your present computer can't handle Vista? Download their Vista Upgrade Advisor program and see what your computer requires to meet the minimum equipment to run Vista. Then make your decision.

Vista is alot more powerful and useful than XP. If you want to get Vista , you'll need at least 1 gig of ram, 2.2 gigahertz processor running 64 bit and a video card that is dx 9 capable with 128 to 256 mb's of built in ram. Beware the bargain pc's and don't get Vista Home edition, it's watered down on the entertainment abilities.

Buy a new computer yes, Vista, NO!!!
Vista is too new and has a lot of unseen problems. XP has been solidified over the last couple of years and is the best OS out there, regardless of what WAC, I mean MAC users say, getting a new XP PC is cheap and you could get one with a lot of extras for probably under 500. Try and get at least 1GB RAM unless your using dial up and only typing school English papers. The minimum recomended RAM for Vista is 1GB anyway, on XP the minimum is 256MB. I can only imagine your pain trying to run it on 128. Stick with XP for the next couple of years PERIOD

If you want to buy a new Vista PC then make sure it has a minimum of 1GB of RAM (Preferably 1.5GB). Personally I would buy a "Vista Premium Ready" PC but load it wih XP Home until Vista settles down and there are updated drivers for all your other gear!!

500 ram you need just for it to run
1gig if you want it to be a bit faster.
i tried vista sample for a month and ime going to wait a few years befor i get it.
good graphics card is a must with vista.
and being new drivers for everything you are going to put in
audio 'graphics are all going to be tested and then fixed and fixed again and again.
anybody running out to get this vista are going to be the testers and the suckers of all of its problems.

then when you buy a new computer make sure you ask for 1gb ram... or 2gb ram or what ever you feel necersery... you might pay a little extra but you will be better of performance wise and you wont have the problem you are worried about :)

I recommend waiting a couple more months before jumping on the vista bandwagon because its new software, which means its full of bugs.

These are just some of the many
