I know both schools have alot of bandwagon fans. And no, I'm not a bandwagon fan, I've gone to 3 Duke games and clean my Mike Krzyzewski autograph every night. Every time Duke losses there is a million questions on here all about how Duke sucks, and how Coach K is the worst person ever. But when NC losses NC fans shut themselves out of the world. Duke fans seem to always be loyal.

Big Shot and momwithabat are living examples of my question, just sprinkling their crappy comments everywhere, Lettie D, I have to agree, you're by best answer right now.

The only fans in the nation that come close to being as loyal as the Duke fans are Kentucky fans.

You sound like a full of crap teenager. Duke has a bunch of bandwagon fans in North Carolina who never went to school there. If they did, then they would hate Duke because it is a school full of rich spoiled kids from New Jersey.

Carolina is as Charles Kuralt described it, "the university of the people". It is well documented that Coach K has been critical of his players when they leave school early and cares more about his program than his players. Remember that he is a descendant of Bobby Knight at Army. Dean Smith cares about his players and wanted them to leave for the NBA when they were ready, even if it hurt the UNC team. Roy Williams is the same way. UNC has a huge alumni base and many fans actually went to school there. The same is true with NC State.

Even Coach K himself isn't so loyal. He quit the team in 1994-95 when he new the team wasn't any good. He decided to have surgery then and when he came back he got rid of the assistant that coached during that time.

Duke has a basketball program. Carolina has a basketball family.

Also, Duke often has empty seats during non-ACC games in their small arena of 10,000 people while Carolina sells out the Dean Dome of 25,000 nearly every game.

Where are the loyal Duke fans during football season? Carolina hasn't been good at football in a while, but Kenan Stadium is still packed.

Haha. i'm a Carolina fan, yet I dont hate Duke like maximum do because i love Scheyer and Henderson. i imagine they're a magnificent team. yet inspite of this, there *were* some bias demands you adult men, no kidding. You adult men ought to easily be giggling at it. Dont problem bout us, basically make certain we play eachother in the finest 4. at the same time as both Duke or UNC wins, the different team complains. It called "hatred".

I totally agree with Mr.Big...esp. the part about the CAROLINA BASKETBALL FAMILY!! My family and I have been loyal fans since the early 60s...we buried my dad with a Dean Smith ornament in his casket. I love UNC..mostly for the reasons Mr. Big mentioned. And I have to say that nothing...absolutely NOTHING...is half as fine as watching Duke University lose a basketball game!!

the Big Shot posting is pretty darn accurate.

Because we don't stoop to answer negative posts about UNC that makes us less loyal???? um.......no.

We just don't get into bickering contests.
